You can easily get to Troon by public transport using train or bus.

For trains, please check the Scotrail website at scotrail.co.uk for latest timetable information and prices. For buses, please check with stagecoachbus.com for times. For buses, a new £2 single fare cap has been introduced in the West of Scotland, which may work out cheaper than buying a return or Dayrider ticket.
